carbon offset suncatcher

Holiday Gifting and Carbon Offsetting

The Juneau Carbon Offset Fund offers you this beautiful holiday gift idea!

Nell McConahey, Juneau artist and owner of Spiral Studio, has created beautiful, handmade ‘mountain and iceberg suncatchers’ to support the emissions-reducing work of Renewable Juneau’s Carbon Offset Fund! These little glass beauties are wonderful in a window, hanging on your holiday tree, or any place else where you desire a reminder of our special home’s glacier and mountains.

Two thirds of your purchase price will directly fund our carbon reduction projects and one third will cover Nell’s material and labor costs.

Each handmade suncatcher is roughly 3.5 inches wide and 2 inches tall. Stands are not included but can be easily be found on line. Two thirds of your cost will support the Carbon Offset Fund’s work. We will deliver these door to door to save shipping expenses, so don’t forget to add a note upon checkout and provide a good delivery address and drop off location!
We’re more than happy to mail these to you as well!

Whenever our crazy world gets back on its feet, these gorgeous works of art should be for sale at Discovery Southeast’s Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center Bookstore. Our original plan was to make sale of these cuties available to summer visitors. Such sales will contribute funds to both Discovery Southeast’s nature education programs for local children as well as to the mission of the Juneau Carbon Offset Fund. We estimate the bookstore price to be $35 a piece.
